You stole the wind

When I first loved you
There was a fire inside me
I could thereafter fly
I could soar with love inside me
I could reach the sky
But now I have new view
Recognizing a bitter seed
Deeply planted
I don't have to wonder why
After you stole the wind
From my lungs
Killing hope inside my heart
Disgusted, you spat me out
Like lukewarm water
You then spoke in tongues
From dimensions far away
Your words filled with doubt
I have no reason to stay
And far more to leave
I take with me my dignity
And won't fire back
Your love is a malignancy
A basis for your attacks
I'd draw a line in the sand
But there'd only be sorrow
Appreciating now this solitude
Of being alone without you
Even if I never love
Or find anyone again
I won't see you tomorrow
