This blue Earth was gifted to humanity
We've never been an equal gift to Earth
And somehow, humanity believes
In the darkness, the depths of our vanity
We think we've improved the world
We're a species that suffers from insanity
Without a thought, we act
We resort to a violence
We've never truly learned
That we are small, unimportant beings
We can't stop the world from turning
Along with our ignorance
Our actions have taken a toll
We destroyed a planet, that is perfect
Giving life, and giving our life, succor
We celebrated our abject nihilism
Doing so without regret
Our minds can't stand silence
Being emptied over time
By the things that fascinate us
Our love of pleasure the portent
