Zeus offered Endymion anything
Anything he might have wanted
But Endymion wasn't normal
Nor was he filled of hubris
Rather than being a god
Or having powers of gods
He wanted something else
Zeus was haunted
For Endymion asked to sleep
His desires were never based
Upon the popularity
Or a flavor of the day
He longed to remain beautiful
He wanted to be forever new
He wasn't so much tired, but weary
He realized that life has a cost of age
To remain young or retain his beauty
He longed for a wonderment
His veins were burning with the fire of youth
He'd sleep, forever pristine, never aging,
Never dying at the foot of Olympus
