I fell upon the offering
Like a starved man at a buffet
My body shivered as it consumed
The bounty of nutrition
What was given to eat
I'd hungered, for so long
Without fulfillment or joy
The moment I was filled
I thought I was saved
I'd thought that I'd not be filled
To any degree
Ever again
Salvation came for me
I was freed from starvation
I had been given over
To the fools deployed
Who pursued my being
In public, or isolation
They used every method of attack
Leaving me wounded
Let alone annoyed
Until filled once again
