Steel Dreams

What moves us, to hate, to want to hurt others
Only the madness of violence, for it breeds more
Causing a need inside, a nightmare that smothers
Of steel and angry dreams, of a fire in the blood
As power gathers in absence of power, a vacuum
Fear leads to sorrow, and sorrow leads to a flood
Now the hour of ascension is here, a call of doom
Time after time we reach out, asking and failing
Every senseless death leads to questions, flailing
Walking in an emptiness, wandering in the dark
Minds exhausted in misery, madness the fine art
A victim no more, making victims of others
Even killing those he might love, lost in the anger
His madness kills his father, his mother
And society shrugs her shoulders
Not having an answer
