Laying down the ash

Smoke curls above the tray
Laying down the ash when finished
Sleep beckons, a dream to be had
But the life we live is decay
What matters, if it is diminished
Every second lost, so is the past
Let my eyes close, resting at last
With my head upon your lap
Hold me tightly
Let me sleep
For you are my divine
My sacred place
Let me dream
Of places you and I will visit
With the sun shine
And drinking wine
And loving
Each other
With abandon
And joy
Lost to the rest
Of life
