Why do we endure the wounds that should have killed us
We've nothing better before us than we've had behind us
My life can only be understood in reverse, when I'm gone
Just let me die, rather than have me fight pointless battles
For the rest of my time, I demand hope, or death, Justice
This war's gone on, stealing lives, meaning, far too long
Give me something and I'll demonstrate a truth right now
Instead of it endlessly crushing me, going on and on
So that in the end... all that I know becomes wrong
We've nothing better before us than we've had behind us
My life can only be understood in reverse, when I'm gone
Just let me die, rather than have me fight pointless battles
For the rest of my time, I demand hope, or death, Justice
This war's gone on, stealing lives, meaning, far too long
Give me something and I'll demonstrate a truth right now
Instead of it endlessly crushing me, going on and on
So that in the end... all that I know becomes wrong

light of what they do or omit to do, and
