OPERATION TEN GO

At the end of the Second World War, Japan was realizing a futility
At the beginning they'd seen victories, superior tactics and strategy
In the end, they had no fuel, pilots or ability to defend their nation
It was clear that Japan would be invaded, defeated, occupied
Never before was Japan made subservient to occupation
To act in defiance, tempt fate, to demonstrate to the invading Allies
IJNS Yamato led a sortie to Okinawa and die as a way we will rise
Hundreds of US aircraft swarmed the naval squadron, killing it
IJNS Yamato was the all time largest, a most powerful battleship
The IJNS Yamato exploded, hundreds of lives were lost
As well as the remaining dreams of the nationalist and idealists
Soon it was realized, hope was futile, fighting was slaughter
Of those remaining, few desired to fight, only the extremists
They didn't see the consequences of actions, nor did they bear the cost
Facing a final battle, with death tolls and damage everlasting
