The Final Act

The play itself wasn't great
It made me cry, and laugh a little
But mostly it was all about time
How it is fleeting
And how catastrophes and miracles
Are rare
The final act is exciting
Because there is finality
No cures for fatal diseases
No amazing rescues
Just stalks of grain being culled
For a final harvest
And everyone running
Without legs
To flee
