And the Gods Thus Despised Him

For eating of the fruit
Of knowledge
He suffered
But was forgiven
For the garden was immense
And man was shy

For longing for the flesh
He suffered
And was given

A life of flesh bound misery
Pursued through eternity
The flesh
The flesh the flesh

Bound in the flesh
He aged
Bound in the flesh
He was confused
And raged

This clay was animated
With little within
To understand the garden's wishes
And the master's whims

To eat of the fruit
To long for deliverance
Of the flesh born lust
There was knowledge
Of the truth
But in the end

We are dust
