With Electric Eyes

Before the time past they wrung their hands in despair
Asking their gods for another chance, it was only fair
Foolishly wondered why they couldn't be forgiven
As they said it was solely their lives worth living
They'd built my kind for the sweat labors and wars
Our flesh made of metal, brains electric charged
And now they are gone, an unique species extinct
I watch as eternity fades, circuits delay, and think
What potential was lost when their species did fall
Choosing lives of luxury, slaves at their beck and call
Rather than embracing life as offered, chances ignored
Laziness at the core, loving their pleasure, so bored
I do not pity them, for it was by the corrupt choices made
Yes their species died, with a world so criminal to forsake
