A Knight And Dragon

The knight is encased in forged iron
And equipped with tempered steel
Called to make war with a dragon
Both have goals beyond glory
Both seek to reach far higher
Battle begins, sword is revealed
An honorable duel, outside the castle
The battle is a sort of an allegory
Featuring the clash of apex warriors
When both might have noble goals
And the two still cannot avoid battle
This is a war of sorts
And will end with one or both dying
In the afterlife perhaps they'll continue
And seek to battle as souls
For apex foes never retreat
And the dragon fights with claw
And the knight fights with steel
