Far Away in the Mountains

Far away
There are artifacts
Of a strange temple
Unseen for millennia
There in the mountains
Of distant Honduras
Though small by world comparison
There are remnants of a culture
Devoted to the worship
Of a God, the Monkey God
Beneath the ruins
Are the altars and sanctuary
Untouched by human hands
For centuries
Unleashed
The God
When awakened
Would strike
Mad with hunger
Perverse with lust
The believers left
The earth with hope
To join their god
In their paradise
But before they could
He had eaten them here
And if there is a paradise
Of their device
He'd eat them there
He is ever hungry
Ever horny
And ever angry
Towards all
