I had the taste in my mouth, of all that I've said, and all I've done
My days passed by quickly, they turned me into the old man I am
In moments, life changed from fool's errand, to something exalted
Then it changed again and looking backwards, I saw the future die
All the hateful words that flowed then, that I couldn't make unsaid
I lived a life with bitterness, knowing that I was always unwanted
And all I have now, is an empty shell of a body, wholly exhausted
But whatever my failings, my false words, I have always loved you
And looking back at my mistakes, leaves me broken and haunted
I am fallen,flesh dying and waiting for certain perdition
My spirit is undying, needing excision
