A warrior of faith might believe himself devout,
And with his life then serve many great causes
True loyalty and fidelity to a cause means something
He must deny his human hungers, lust and desires
Meaning denial of his basic human functions and life
By the end of his life, he prays to leave nothing left
So that his flesh has been given in service, in his fire
By serving God he has chosen a life, lived for others
And by doing so he has abandoned his own desires
In exchange for his right to serve the holiest one
No promises of riches, fame, enjoyment of the flesh
Only the joy of serving one who reigns much higher
Than any god or being, of any human imagination
And by serving the one, he fulfills the needs of others
