Day Consumed By Night

In this ebb and the flow of light
Watch as a sun falls from view

Now comes darkness and murk

The gloaming now begins anew

We are witness to a birth of night

Yet, due to the constancy of it

It doesn't feel a transformation

As if its commonplace, to see

But viewing it from a distance

From off world or distant stars

It is nothing less than a miracle

To observe the everlasting cycle

Daylight is consumed in our sight

And then find the renewal of light
