Through existence we've watched, waited, forewarned
Waiting upon red skies, blackened earth, then screams
For when life won't matter, in view of a coming storm
Sleepwalking through life, living as if in a dream
Reality as nightmare, morality shredded at the core
We've nothing left, feet planted firmly in Babylon
For we have become lost, and can never be restored
In a fecund, foul city of excess, led by god Mammon
Smiling, taking our offerings of gold and treasure
As we live for pleasures of the flesh and leisure
