Words confuse me

I cannot understand what they're saying
They keep speaking, desire my response
Staring into my eyes, expressing doubt
And yes, I might be an idiot, I'm no genius
But whatever they are saying, I am lost
Words speak life into magic possibilities
Still, if I am honest, I can't figure it out
I hear sounds, I see ardent people trying
And I'm without a clue about just what
I will remain silent, I have no words
I've lost my mind or never had one
