Just once

She was graceful, lithe
Glorious, shined
She walked by me and smiled
I remember her fragrance

She was beautiful and kind
I could tell as her eyes
Gazed through me
I became filled with song

But like everything else
She disappeared
And just once
She walked by me

Decades later

I can still smell her perfume
I can still feel her smile
I can still see her eyes
I can linger

Because so little in life matters
That one moment
Like this one
Will light my fire

Now and forever
