Vile words aren't violence but they still hurt, they do mean something
We are all told that words will never hurt us but what does that mean
Are we meant to ignore the intention, or ignore the communication
The circular dialogue, no beginning or end, emotional starvation
Over time we hear enough, we believe, especially if we agree
But self esteem is a gift that most people do not possess
And I confess, it may take much more effort to believe
