Those born in the world before the 80s lived through a Cold War
But we were little able to imagine the depths of potential horrors
Grave annihilation, toxic death unleashed by accident or design
And by flip of a switch by those hiding in bunkers, stop all time
Only for them to emerge in the open, after the danger had passed
And discover that the world died and this mistake was the last
The new world of freedom and peace hasn't been the better one
For there will be a disaster, self invited, a war that can't be won
“Because normal human activity is worse for nature than the
greatest nuclear accident in history.” Martin Cruz Smith
