When we think of the past
We think of a time so far away
That the lives must be exotic or boring
Depending upon our outlook of their day
But they wanted what we want
They desired what we desire
They lived to love, to find pleasure
To gather items, to find treasures
They seem so far away from the present
But we are very much the same
And have not changed
But for our knowledge
We live in a different way
But with similar desires
Similar interests
In the end, we are the same
However far away they may be
