Home From War

We grew up together, played and went to school
Brothers in arms, brothers in play, young fools
I spent a lifetime waiting for you to come back
You went off to war while I went off to work
You saved the nation, I became a desk clerk
I thought you'd return as one of the pack
You grew up, whereas I had froze in place
Brother thank you, I love you, let's embrace
Forget the remnants of events, youthful hubris
Come over, let's chat about things useless
Return to being brothers of the same pack
Let's go out, let's drink, and finally howl
It is time to be brothers again, the time is now
