Fair Rosamund

The Germanic roots for the name
Came from the meaning "protector"
Her name in Latin meant "pure rose"
And nature could not have chosen
A better protector of the pure rose
Summer provided enormous growth
The plants around castle wall, lush
And they grew as she had guided
Her gift would bring forth the green
And as her hands cultivated earth
She added a color like a painter
She was deft even without a brush
Glorious flowers, grasses, and ivy
Such thick, fecund, verdant life
Content in the embrace of nature
As all of nature was content in her
