His Life

With her single breath and in excruciating pain
He was born, baptized with blood falling like rain
She passed having given life, her flesh now gray
He was awake to existence, his first moment sad
His memory clouded by youth, would be a nomad
His family gone, a life lived without a mom or dad
Life is bound in chains of destiny, but denied fate
He chose to claim a future, a life not terminated
He was alive, he'd live, and the cost could wait
Every single life has cost, no one lives without it
The abyss perhaps beckons, but so does heaven
