Ashes Scattered and Spread

Created and cared for
A seed grown in eternal womb
Code written upon the soul
For delivery upon the earth
To some a blessing
To others a curse
This prestigious moment
An anniversary of birth
When other lives
Sent to the tomb
But there is nothing universal
Except for existence
The world is now new
As she opens her eyes
Sees for the first time
The last time it has perfect innocence
Beginning the new chapter
Of a scroll, a book, carved in stone
Shattered templates crash
Crumble to dust
Stone made soft
As the voice is heard
By the world alone, finally
As one who lingers in the place
As all of the other souls embrace
Leaving the temporal world
Behind
Forever and permanently
The dance is over
As time disintegrates into ash
Residue of a life
Now scattered to the winds
I stand and watch
Waiting to leap
Waiting for the wind
To carry me far away
