Queen Maeve

She was awash in power, depths of wisdom
She had learned with knowledge and passion
As dangerous as a she wolf, danger obvious
Gifted with an ability to see future visions
If angered she could turn a world to ashes
There in her seat of power, quite notorious
In Hibernia she lived near the Heavens
But she was more than myth or legend
She watched every child made of flesh
As they wander through life and death
In ancient Rathcroghan she dwelled
And ordinary men in her presence melt
She was Queen Maeve ruler of the land
Holding every majestic power in her hand
But province surrounding not yet in line
Cuchulainn resisted, she did too, in kind
Two forces powerful, anger vast and wide
They'd meet, and divide between the tribes
With those who followed, those who did not
Battle was savage in days before the cross
