When it was over, we could only then see...

I believe killing civilians is evidence of total war
Where there is total war, do not expect any mercy
From 1937 to 1945 the Chinese and Japanese war
Saw biological warfare, war crimes, and slaughter
When two atomic bombs were finally dropped
Who could argue that this was out of character
Nagasaki and Hiroshima would thereafter
Be remembered for this extreme sanction
Of a war fought in constant violence
From the internment of the Japanese in America
And the theft of their land by government interest
To the dropping of the bombs to slay innocents
There was nothing about this war
That the ending should surprise
No one is innocent
Just the same
Few were found guilty
And that is a measure
Of blood upon every hand
Innocence was not respected
And hatred, was an engine of conflict
