Against a backdrop of a majestic rising sun
An abandoned ruins of an abbey shines
Former monks and speakers gone
But the message remains of the Son
The One, the doorway to eternity
An artifact of a time was lived
While empty, it is no victim to modernity
Time has a cost and human flesh is frail
The stone used weathered
And the wages of years has been paid
The abbey remains beautiful
But a reminder of our moment
We must choose our path forward
Moved or unmoved by the word
The life once lived cannot be seen
Except for our acts that changed the course of the river
Except for those who moved the world
By their choices once delivered
John 6:63 ESV
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
