Three hundred men spent three days fighting a hundred thousand
The 300 Spartans were warriors, and likely very brave
For those who'd fought bravely as a Persian
Winning or losing, lives were lost
It doesn't devalue the effort, or result
Failure doesn't remove lives lost
Or hopes given
Nor what they gave
We should not devalue results of such acts
Who knows what one might save
Or what they might do
What changes everything
Is the idea that one person can change the world
And who knows, it might actually be you
