Just as well alone

In the throes of passions of love
They'll scream your name in joy
In the passion found in anger
They act in disgust as if
You're from the great unwashed
They'll call for you when they hunger
They'll call when they've become lost
They'll treat you otherwise as a stranger
They believe you should bear the cost
And that is good enough
For  you no longer hunger for their touch
It had come with an enormous expense
The time together burns you inside
You've lost your love
Any time with them is too much
But you remain because of lust
And that bears a cost of its own
Just as well
Be alone
Alone is best
Alone doesn't need qualifiers
Alone requires no test
Other than a count of numbers
