Don't Tell Me to Grow Up

If you hide from the messenger
Bringing you news for the day
If you hide from her charms
Harm will only come inside
A witness of your own decay
Every moment therein spent
With all of the seconds within
A revelation our deep confusion
Fearing the death waiting
Energy fades with every act
As we grow soft, thin, and gray
From our madness and the lack
For we've lost a desire to grow
Oh, let me be in this place
Where no one says grow up
Why don't you act mature
Stop being a fool
But I've done my time
You can't go back
I've long since became old
Long past time for school
Where the idiot bullies rule
Conformity tries your will
And the administration is cruel
So let me be free from your designs
Upon how I must live this life
