Upon 1274 AD, 2nd of November
Ships brought warriors over the sea
Servants, sailors and horse men
From across the Mongol Empire
To conquer or to bring order
To subdue a people, resisting
To defeat the defenders
Of the defiant nation of Japan
Warriors of either side all ready
To die, to end up slaughtered
The defense of a land or idea
A people or a leader instead
For to die would brings honor
And to his family even more
But a way to remember
With a form of contentment
Aside from just being dead
