Fears of an old lonely man

I spent all my dreams with those schemes
A sort of portent of all my future regrets
As I lingered knowing, echoes of shadows
Yet not ready to bid you adieu, I believe too
After the torment, our days but a moment
Watching as days crash, the end here at last
My knowledge of the reason is treason
The knowing of a sorrow will never relent
I surrender, and try to never remember
The choices leading me here, with a kiss
So near to the edge of the deepest abyss
I am finished, at the end of rope I twist
No escape, my love being a forlorn tryst
My dream turned grieving, given voice
My soul given over to be the enemy's toy
For the rest of my existence
And perhaps, an eternity
