Tears

When you asked me why I was crying
I wasn't showing sorrow, it wasn't joy
The world wasn't privy to our secrets
The world wouldn't understand trying
To know more than humans can feel
To know in deeper fathoms than oceans
If I never experienced this, I'd be dying
Living an existence without truth, love
You have been in my heart since birth
And in my dreams since even before
No more waiting, now is time to live

"Her heart was broken. Why would they try to
cure her with pills and powders?” Leo Tolstoy

No Jumping

From when we joined together, we still had a fire
The loudest arguments have never solved problems
And whatever the problem is this time, ad nauseum
All we do is fight but you have to wonder the point
If there's a point, there rarely is one, we've nothing
The pain of separation erases the memory of why
Alio tempore fortasse invicem invenire possemus
Please know I'm so tired, I've nothing left inside
Except for the love that I still have for only you
It doesn't diminish and I prefer to just forgive
I know we've tried, we both have, unchanged
I want reasons to go forward, I need to live
It should be easier than this, really should
Whatever it might take, I want to prove
Life is good, and hope is understood

The Horses Ride

Riding horses into the void
When here I am content
I can't even remember my name
Nor can I remember hers
You'd think I'd find a way to avoid
The acts of foolish despair
All these days linger
But later lead to shame
Until I go back I shake
I'll ride horses into the void
One moment the abject pain
The next I am cold and still
The horse working its way
Through the void, that calls me
From the empty nothingness
If the horses someday refuse
What will be left
Only the nothing I retreat to
To be lost in that place
I wait but when no one calls
I'll fade, fade away
