That Cat

That cat sits on the radiator
Body laid out for comfort
Fully immersed in the heat
Staring out the window
At the human activities
The birds over there
And there, there and there
It has glorious dreams
Furry paws and white teeth
So sharp the birds fear her
But she is a caged beast
Living politely indoors
Rather than wild
As it burns in her to be
She could kill us too
If we didn't share food
And treats
Tame? Not a chance
She has cats dreams
In them she rules the world
And we humans have to dance
For our food every morning
Instead of her
