The Flesh is Weary

He knew he loved her, and that she loved him
They had been through a life, together
Filled with event, joy and sorrow
Should one die, the other would not marry again
They both knew their partner in forever
Everything experienced meant they'd know
Even if anxiety might grow
That every test is for the moment
Time is a sort of experiment
Death was a simple thing
A walk through mist and never
Together they'd endure
And they could expect the same
Whatever they experienced
Forever is composed of every tomorrow
