Civilization will arrive at a place, late
To find there is absolutely nothing left
But we won't even save ourselves
As we stare out upon the empty stage
And must know we've wasted everything
If our chosen and elected leaders deign tell us
Trust us please, citizens, we'll get through this
That isn't the truth that the people need to hear
The entire world pursues leisure and pleasure
They'll refuse to pay with their gathered treasure
To help others, or to even help themselves
All the things that we care enough to pay for
Are our bread, circus games and to have sex
