We have chains even in freedom
There are slaves in modern times
We ignore the growing tedium
With material riches sublime
A clock measures off a portion
We allow control of our being
Taking orders, even extortion
So that we might have more
We live for our petty things
We become slaves
Who live in a state of envy
Rather than aspire and dream
We must acknowledge something
First to break free from the chains
Then to be certain of what is worthy
Of the love you had for the chains
“Manifest plainness,
Embrace simplicity,
Reduce selfishness,
Have few desires.”
