The forest holds secrets, while some fear it, others seem comforted
So when one goes deeper into the night, the shadows begin to grow
Silence whispers to itself, as the creatures of the forest listen well
Mist rises, the creatures in the enchanted forest are able to thrive
While the darkness surrounding makes it is easy to enter slumber
Summer will bring growth, roots rapidly expanding, not slowly
In size and sounds, the forest takes upon it a mystic quality, a spell
For all who have watched, listened, they swear the forest is alive
The wood is a wellspring of life, and humans are her seed
Humans have tried taming the forest, our actions make it bleed
And still the Green gives us air to breathe, and wood for our homes
Over time becoming nearly immortal, while civilization falls
In each human our flesh fades, and time leaves only bones
We wouldn't know it though, we have stopped listening
We've stopped hearing the call, and we will be left alone
