Destiny or Doom

As we are searching for the doorway
We all enter into a locked room
Wherein every step we take
Will leave prints in snow
If destiny is ignored, we will all fall
As the pristine landscape is stained
We all desire the softest beauty
Needing comforts of sanctum
In the cycles that are ever present
Where the Orphic truths appear
As our lives of flesh decay
Our wisdom grows
Finding transcendence in our frozen state
A context for the knowledge abandoned
Emotional upheaval, walls are falling
Existence is cast into the absurdity
We no longer hear destiny calling
So refuse the judgment of fate
Find your purpose, fervently
Or be cast into nothingness
With every new sorrow
And suffer every new pain
After a lifetime of struggle
Comes a reckoning, a harvest
It will wound, yes it will kill
In every moment and thought
As reality falls from our minds
With every day lost and dreams tossed
We burn from inside and fail to rise
Forever more

I am Prisoner of my own Jail

I've waited for you for my salvation and my redemption
I have waited for you to free me from my chains
I've called out your name, as I hunger in spiritual starvation
I count the days in this prison cell, as my isolation remains
I thought my being was called from the deep Abyss
So I wanted more than the angel of Death's kiss
In throes of sorrow I twist, wondering if you hate me
And I know my soul bent in grieving and no bliss
I beg of you, if you listen, I'm sorry for all of my flaws
But you made me, I was made this way, I can't be renewed
My past is unknown to everyone but you and without you
I will be the cause of my fall, with my dark spirit untamed

“I don't have a thing," Tengo said, "except my soul." "Sounds like
a job for Mephistopheles," she said.”                 Haruki Murakami

Ascent

In a dreamscape, the nightmares bloom
In the madness, we will invite our doom
A black void, there is manifest darkness
But in the blinding light, we are blessed
Seek only light, seek the way, forward
Find peace, abandon rage, become light
In us all, let there be hope, and purpose
Let us finally ascend, let us find Heaven

Amen

An End to the War

To kill a dragon, would earn the warrior his name
Then the two, armored knight and ancient wyrm
Took to a field surrounding castle and villagers
A duel fought, to the final blow, without fame
For all of the people have fled, no witnesses
The land's been scoured by the dragon's fire
And there's nothing worth saving, all is gone
But the duel was fought, with two lives taken
All for the desire to kill or to punish the other
Nothing remains now, not even the final story
For here two dead warriors lay side by side
A human warrior in armor, a dragon in scales
Both find death in all memory, without glory
But exchange greetings full of honor
Where they now exist, in the after world

Midnight Dragon Passing

As the dragon flies across this evening's sky
The moon is illuminated and clouds gather
From the earth below, all people look in fear
As a silhouette passes before a lunar surface
Watching, the villagers breathe easier, aware
Knowing that the beast and moon are distant
And for now, the village and castle are safe

Without Light

Oh, behind the veil of light, behind the veil of life
Darkness may linger, neither cold nor at all sterile
When the night falls, stars in all their beauty shine
Far from empty, stirring with energy, without guile
A world hidden beneath a shroud of darkened light
It bears no evil, if far from the visible world's sight
Without bias nor desire, neither sublime nor vile
It simply is, just as the light world exists, in light
But darkness holds intrigue, for all that isn't seen
And when peace is found, when we dream serene
A timeless state, in a hibernation, so very deep
Let the sleep state heal us, in our majesty's keep

Light in Darkness

There is an unseen fantastic realm, hiding in darkness
In the inky black, there is light, a beautiful dynamism
Life and death form a circle, one renewing and robust
The light from an unusual vegetation gives a clear path
Allowing the insects and creatures to give their trust
Alight upon the petals, flowers and branches of trees
Life often looks different in the eternal night's shine
Only until that very great day when the veil is parted
Then this whole of the world can be seen at last
“Do not fear the darkness; Because it is as beautiful as the light. And do
not fear the light;  Because it is as beautiful as the darkness. These two
are each others mothers, and each others fathers."       Hendrith Smith

Behind the Veil, Life is Revealed

Into every black hole, the chasm between life and death grows
My flesh is a temporary vessel, time is a construct of the mind
The spirit is weary, flesh is decaying gray, as it waits for death
If life is beautiful or if it is a nightmare, can we hope it is fair?
Pull back the veil, reveal the truth, believe without any proof

“Those heart-hammering nightmares that start to lose coherence even as you're waking up
from them, but that still manage to leave their moldering fingerprints all across your day.”
                                                                                                                                   Mike Carey

The King of the Asylum

The choir resounds with the amount of signal to the noise
And that leads me to despairing and fear of everything
Whispered threats, darkness on the horizon, emptiness
In every song, the moment of accusations in every voice
Choir anthems of ruins, of the sorrow, of my sins within
In chaos, asylum denied, I've become a king of madness
My thoughts can't entertain other minds, nor my own
Instead I'll sit in a round room, safely chained, alone
Never worry about me, for I found safety, and quiet
There's nothing to consider, zero chance of a riot
Please relax I'll fade away, as sanity is broken
My mind enters decay, with prayers unspoken
Spending time walking circles until chosen
I will hold court, in the peaceful silence
Upon my throne, with no equal

Damned

We've no second planet and we have no option B to choose from
We've one single home the planet Earth, our mother and provider
Toxic waste, species extinction, radiation, human caused disaster
Can we wonder why our world is dying, for it is by our own hand
Maybe with war we'll all go extinct following war's beating drum
Sun will pause, clouds parting, illuminating a sky and four riders
Consequences of our own behavior leading to the devil's laughter
We are the cancer upon our mother's heart, becoming the damned
Lightning strikes, portals are kicked open, at last the end is here

“I am crying for more and more disasters, for bigger
calamities, for grander failures.”           Henry Miller

Dante

His gifts of insight were taught by means unorthodox
Dante Alighieri had died on September 14, 1321 AD
In an age of great intellectual discovery and growth
Skilled in many forms of the writing discipline
Poet, philosopher, literary and cultural critic
He told popular tales, morality tales and paradox
Displaying the consequences of pride and shame
Human hubris deeply embedded in every approach
As we tend to make unsolved problems cryptic
Looking upon knowledge as if a box, locked
We give up before arriving upon the solution
Dante refused to surrender his truth, his voice
Because he was committed to resolution
Existence needed Dante's narrative opera
But his greatest gift to humanity was deep
He gave humans a view of a higher drama
With foresight of the Inferno and Heaven
Our eventual destinations await

“My course is set for an uncharted sea.” Dante Alighieri

Grateful for Aging

This world is said to hunger for justice
All the while refusing to even fight for it
To find a resolution or achieve a solution
It is said that people are hyper critical
But there is no critical thinking now
We've no true judgment in this age
If wisdom is earned, youth fleeting
We must endeavor to enter maturity
As if we are appearing upon a stage
Our mind and heart being seasoned
To take a curtain call and end the play
With mercy for all, respect for reason
Remove the mask, end the masquerade
Embrace existence in all of its forms
Try to appreciate all of your days
For each day moves swiftly by us
I've been told that aging is a privilege
While I don't know if that is truth
I know I have missed wisdom lost
When my beloved mother passed
After a life time she spent, helping
 Working, praying, beneath the cross
Serving others and sharing her love
One who leads by service to others
One who leads by paying the cost

Marching to Oblivion

The whispering voice tells me all I need to know
When every tomorrow comes, it is unpromised
Where all our unfulfilled dreams destroy hope
I'd never trade my flaws or my mistakes made
Or every second of time remaining for anything
Not offers of pleasure, power nor tons of gold
I'd trade every second for one speck of control
Let me escape this prison world, taking my soul
For there's nothing I can do to change our path
From unexpected detours to a righteous wrath
If there is nothing, I know nothing can be done
I'll choose to go forward, if needed to oblivion
Let me pour gasoline on my solipsistic dreams
For I am tired, the end is now, the end is here

Her scent of Jasmine

Born from the stone cold womb I persist and flourish
Called out from an arranged tomb, the death delayed
A sleepless imagination turns dream, a path forward
In a dying biodome, my spirit transcends the decay
As I catch her scent of jasmine, she's in this orchard
My dreams are to be realized, mercy wins over rage
And now I can find hope, even in my flawed form

Rescued

Over the period of three days of a darkness, the devil reveled, and danced
The anointed messiah was broken, God's own chosen one, by the Empire
Raised upon log beams, crafted into a crude T shape, with human affixed
Kept in place by nails pounded through flesh, a fatal painful circumstance
A crowd surrounded the execution, staring at the spectacle, for it was dire
Some cried, others laughed, as the event proof we'd slipped into an Abyss
But even as the devil and his minions celebrated, Hell's door was opened
And all the prisoners were freed, the lost were found, life was given hope

“Ay," he said aloud. There is no translation for this word and perhaps it
is just a noise such as a man might make, involuntarily, feeling the nail
go through his hands and into the wood.”                 Ernest Hemingway

MASADA

Masada, isolated above the desert, in natural difficult terrain
Roman Legion X fought the Jewish Zealots over two years
Zealots were religious, and defenders of the Jewish nation
The fortress atop the high plateau, seemed invulnerable
It looked over the desert below, harsh, lifeless and dry
Built by Herod and used later by the Zealots in defense
Against a Roman legion who'd fight with naked aggression
Using the advantage of numbers and strategy and tactics
Their 15000 men fought no more than 1000 Zealot defenders
The two year conflict seemed endless, for both sides of war
But even then, the Romans refused to leave, to live or die
The Zealots were fanatics, politically and religious beliefs
The two ideals gave strength to the defenders of Masada
And after a while, as the walls fell after a long campaign
The defending forces had used swords upon themselves
And they left no warriors alive to be taken prisoner
They left a legacy of defiance, of a bitter resistance
The Jewish people held it high, as a memory and fire
The Zealots were examples for a fight into the future
Wherever they lived, they had to fight, knowing
They were not the first, they'd fight to create a state
With values of defenders who never were defeated

The 50s Captured On Film

As lives happened in black and white, spitting was a crime
People had a need to live in conformity to beliefs of the day
It was an era of excitement, optimism and defiance of time
Seeing themselves as a first generation to live without a rage
They had forgot the era before their own, settled with war
They couldn't be blamed for having hope or wanting more
The nuclear age fully began, the wars of humanity returned
A brief moment passed, there wasn't one moment to linger
It was lifted upon a bonfire of cultural hubris and burned
But these human lives were not perfect, they never were
As the life we believe that we'd lived, now seemed a lie
In black and white, sepia tone or full color, and glossy
We are prone to believe in hope, when no hope is there
So how did we ever reach this place, why do we care
For every generation has its hubris, we should not dare
To imagine that our future path shouldn't be this way
To remember the past as a road to a very different place

That Very Magical Place

In an ever magical place, where nothing dies, nor grows old
Take me there, hand in hand, heal my being, dancing in snow
The living world exhausts me, I grieve and time takes a toll
What is left but hoping for the other world, we've no control
We all die, so know peace, my hand in your own, take hold
Know that you're with me, and hold my heart, love my soul
Let us be comforted in that place, for our youth never flees
A realm where life never ends, forgiven, given time to live
And there we will live, without any doubt, and frolic
Living the perfect magic found in all the stories told

“Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,

For I would ride with you upon the wind,

Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,

And dance upon the mountains like a flame.”

William Butler Yeat

Not Lost In Space, Searching

Laying in a hibernation womb, in mother's chamber for sleep
All of us were chosen for our mind and ability to deep dream
Beautiful as steel creations go, she was pristine, just launched
Her technology was the most recent generation and huge cost
We'd sleep for years in hyperspace, so quiet it'd seemed a tomb
Earth had collapsed, wars, famines, toxic waste were our doom
Deep space travel was necessary now, humanity lost her home
Searching for a new earth, wanting to settle, not simply roam
We lost our need to gather treasure, to acquire needless things
In sleep chambers, we didn't even notice the hyperspace leap
Passing through nebula, solar systems, we're forced to search
While we slept computers guided the ship, utilizing research
Computers tried finding potential systems we could thrive in
Sleep interruptions, with hope a new planet on the horizon
It was grueling to be awakened often, and then find no hope
We didn't have an option, we'd find our planet, send a probe
If we found life it must be measured, but so far, we're alone
In 100 years humans went from covered wagons to rockets
Space travel possible, the dream unforeseen by the prophets
Our species would go extinct without finding a new frontier
A call went out to gather our crew, many then volunteered
Since anything is better than dying doing nothing, waiting
The disaster leading to our mission was ongoing, no abating
We were not about to refuse to lift a hand in our final stand
This quest required great bravery to find a homeland
Eventually we'll find our next home, or become extinct

Fire on the Mountain

Sending messages, using firelight, by setting mountain fires
We'd contact neighbors, even far away, using simple sight
Eventually, the desire to make contact would lead to more
And in time messages changed in form, becoming electric
We'd invent a way to extend our reach, finding life forms
To speak across the universe we'd use concentrated light
A question to an optimistic mind, what about our past
Do you remember our first contacts among the species
Not just the racism and hatred, but absolute slaughter
Humanity has long had a dangerous killer instinct
For, if we have killed our own species so easily
As we seek new life, and we act without mercy
Will our desire to find new life, for others be fatal
For all of that new life that we might find
Should we even try to reach further
Are we forever bound to history
Can we ever transcend our past
How will we ever know
If our desire is subconsciously to find new prey
If our actions are not accompanied by grace
Our desire to know should be muted
For as we try to find all the galaxy's knowledge
And all that is unknown remaining to be found
Will we show restraint and change this day
Is it too much to consider that we pause
With new alien life forms to slay

A Scar upon the tapestry

I'm now and ever have I been, a scar upon the tapestry
I'm a stain upon a wall, human existence is a memory
My flesh fails, my brain dies by the inch, what is there
Nothing I believe in is worth the pain, so why bother
I beg for an answer to every question, what is fair?
Do we get the answer, equal to our opportunities
Or do we get screwed equally, is there no unity?
Do we have to die, to live, to even get the chance
To rise, understand, more than our circumstance
Why wonder, not what's left to ponder but why
What happens if I survive or that I finally die?
Will there ever be happiness or nothingness
Is there a hope for a future or is it emptied
What remains to know but absolute love?

Redeem me

I can't remember the last September
In which I was told that I was loved
My soul has long been dismembered
The grueling torment of being unloved
But I still love you, even if unrequited
If unwanted, unappreciated or undesired
I still burn for you, inside me is an inferno
I burn in a soul longing fire
What is there, if not hope?
Being the unchosen
What can I find, if not a goal to finally achieve
So I must ask you, do you love me?
Will you ever love me or need me?
If not, how will I ever believe?
For I can no longer fly
My wings have been broken
As my lips speak the prayers I need to express
All of those feelings trapped within
All my dreams left unspoken
You are now and have always been
The only one I have ever longed for
I enter that dream place, again, and again
Slay my wickedness, give me new resolve
Please let me love you in return
Just say the words I need to hear
I believe that you know the words well
I am already yours
Without you, alone I'll burn
This love inside is fire, unfulfilled
If I burn without you
And it will ever be
Until you say what I need to hear
Those words will redeem me
Unless they remain unheard
As they linger upon your tongue
Unless I hear you say them
Until you say that I'm the one
Please, in your love redeem me
Or just let me finally die alone
Redeem me
Or let my company be my own
I can't go on without knowing,
And yet, I do know, still
Do you love me, or is it time to move on
Have I then created my own Hell
Or have I finally entered oblivion
Please redeem me, you are all I desire
My salvation is completely in your power
Let me be completed, in your love's return
Or this will truly be my final hour

Peaches and Edith

There's a dessert so perfect for a summer, divine
When you combine cobbler and beloved peaches
With strong French press coffee, and Edith Piaf
Did you know we once had that peach cobbler?
In my dreams, there must always be the music
It's glorious to be with her and listen to her sing
I'd never regret meeting her in my dream time
My friend Alan said, and I always listen to him
That Edith Piaf and peach cobbler are entwined
The perfect duo, one of perfect taste and energy
Together in richness and beauty, and in rhyme

Cheers to Alan!
Cheers to summer peach cobbler!
And cheers to Edith Piaf, and Vive le France!

Machine of Dreams

As I sleep on the isolated sands, tides rising, I am safe here
Awash in memories, a tide scares some, but not me, so I dream
In depths of my sleeping mind, I cry as salvation draws near
A complexity of existence can seem like an organic machine
Walking down a path of dreamlike state, not lucid or clear
Still we smile, by using our human brain to then escape
Of this life, that is cruel, finite, if beautiful and serene

Dangerous Blue Eyes

With her eyes, she could say anything, everyone would think it great
With her petulance, she was so sharp of tongue, able to decide a fate
I lingered in her presence anyway, I was addicted to her, couldn't stop
Loving her was dangerous, brought me pain, I'd no way to turn it off
Sky blue crystal eyes, pouting lips, a wit that brought me to my knees
I begged her to leave me alone, allow me to live, just leave me please
She smiled and said I must be joking, oh she'd never do that to me
And then she pouted, gazed into my eyes, and did it all over again

A Voice Not Silent

It is said that in each epic journey there is a humble beginning
And along the way to quest's end, many memories imprinting
But this can't be said for me, I was born as a result of a rape
That act of hate at conception, an origin less human than ape
A violence committed, stealing legitimacy, honor, and a life
But if my flesh was threatened with damnation, I survived
The world about me sought to have me silent and dead
Nobody hears cries of the innocent or the illegitimate
My path is focused upon my new existence instead
I've never been silenced, I will never embrace fate
My life remains to be lived, and I am not a stain
Whatever my origins, I've been given new life
And I have chosen destiny for my journey

“Dripping water hollows out stone, not through
force but through persistence.”               Ovid

Really, Not that much Better

Those born in the world before the 80s lived through a Cold War
But we were little able to imagine the depths of potential horrors
Grave annihilation, toxic death unleashed by accident or design
And by flip of a switch by those hiding in bunkers, stop all time
Only for them to emerge in the open, after the danger had passed
And discover that the world died and this mistake was the last
The new world of freedom and peace hasn't been the better one
For there will be a disaster, self invited, a war that can't be won

“Because normal human activity is worse for nature than the
greatest nuclear accident in history.”       Martin Cruz Smith

Time

Into a tunnel of passing hours, we are born into the great fire
We turn the pages of time, alone without an anthem or choir
Our choices are made, our life is lived, we can't dream aloud
My flesh decays, and now my body is gray, cold in the ground
The sands no longer pour through the glass, no more hours
As we look into the sky, existence calls, our choices tower
Eternity captured in our gaze, forever can be seen

The Storm

Not every calm feeling in the storm comes from heroic bravery
Some comes from having trust and finding comfort from afar
Courage is born by the unwillingness to despair, or to fear
We have a great capacity to overcome, be more than we see
However dark it grows, we can take comfort in the next day
While life has no guarantees and the future is yet unwritten
The new day brings light and hope, and chance to rise again

Elysium in her Arms

In her arms I renew, in her mercy
Giving me gossamer wings, flight
In her care I will heal, in her grace
All the things wrong made right
I dream of her, in exquisite detail
There I'm in her sacred presence
Where my soul will find delight
Not for our many erotic moments
Nor feelings of romantic desire
Only in her comfort in the night
When I reach for her and I know
In pitch black darkness, I'm blind
Her soul shines in the brightness
With her guidance, I will grow

Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart
whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song.
At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet.”   Plato

Bones

My flesh, bones, blood and spirit
Are broken, full of damage now
From the way I've been living
If the ancestors call, I can't hear it
I'm blinded and deaf somehow
Invulnerable to pain, but not forgiven
Breaking, I'm my own evil dream
Tempted and tormented, my being
If I surrender and die, I will be lost
Cast into the abyss, with prejudice
No one but me to pay the cost
Broken, unchosen, screaming
A prayer never before heard
Of dreams unspoken
And feared, without salvation
No redemption for the fool's path
No saving the unsaved
Having chosen wrath
Rather than hope
Having had no empathy
Having chosen anger
Now drowning in fire
With a chain around my throat

Ink for my Blood

I can't stop my bleeding, as words continue to flow
My blood is as black ink, and now I want to know
Why do I endure or suffer, why even bother to persist
I can't let the mystery exist, it must be understood
The lack of answers will make me twist, I need truth
So into the void I walk, silence surrounds my mind
Then my words begin to pour out, with a story inside
I've no choice, as I channel words from nothing
A muse speaks for me, a new poem is coming
I am the words I write, I am lost in time
Aware of flaws in my mind, I seek release
Every word I speak, allows me to believe
That existence reveals a purpose that is divine

“You talk when you cease to be at peace
with your thoughts.”         Kahlil Gibran

Midnight's Tribe

Whoever the enemy was, we do not know
But their weapons were used in a rage
Normal existence had died
A few cities had survived
The bomb's radiation killed the weak
The impact killed all of the old
The infrastructure was left untouched
There was no more than normal decay
High radiation bombs weren't designed to destroy
Buildings, bridges and roads were now emptied
Radiation waves cut through flesh, slaying
Irradiating every human life
We nearly went extinct, in a flash
But it was an incomplete task
It is true that the bombs killed many
But the radiation brought forth new men
We formed clans and gathered for safety
Trying to survive the violence, and need
We took upon us symbols of allegiance
For whom we'd bleed
Staring into the sky, we were aware
Our time was short, life would be hard
The surviving world did not care
However we might act
Whatever we might do
We were witness to catastrophe
We had to start over again
To find our path, to rise from the ashes
If there was nothing, we still survived
And that alone meant something
We came out at night
When the burning sun had fallen
And we scoured the earth for food
And listened to hear the ghosts calling
Asking for us to end it all
To add the killing blow
But we endured in any event
Survival was not curse
We had to live
With no right way to go

Discovering our Path

The powerful machines of time, the gears are turning, never slowing
Dreams and nightmares of our mind, the madness is ever growing
The earth turns on her axis swiftly, consistently, efficiently flowing
As if a ship without a direction, while storm winds are blowing
Future unclear, as we go forward, the destination is unknown
How can we know our path, without a guide, can we ever dream
Our world is not serene we must find that on our own, and find hope
We must transcend life to then ascend, we must discover it
In every last second of time, we must find it, upon our own

In the late days of planet Earth

The dust rises from the surface, billowing as it swirls into the clouds
Like a tower of flame sent by an angry god, to punish a brutal world
Oceans that were once here but now there are desolate desert plains
Reasons for transformation aren't a mystery, we shouldn't be proud
We've reached the final age of man, our flawed banners be unfurled
We've built weapons that could destroy a planet, and drop black rain
The dying fetid flesh decays, peeled back, turned black, we've died
The few survivors alive envy the dead and for the fall, feel no pride
In growing misery, our world collapses as we call upon the divine
Begging for quick release, begging to end the story and humanity
And the ghost of the human species will walk alone, and haunt
Our world will shiver in darkness, for a disaster most daunting
We will pass, with or without closure, and surely no future

“The fallen angel becomes a malignant devil. Yet even
that enemy of God and man had friends and associates
in his desolation; I am alone.”                   Mary Shelley

I am the Cause

Results of every test will demonstrate the truth
I am the cause of the disease,  of time and aging
Confessing my sins, and watching my body fail
Grave cost, life demands the pound of my flesh
If I'm willing to change, my life will be a proof
Life is full of mysteries as I step behind the veil
Dying is a doorway, not end, I draw final breath
Final throes of pain, end of the passions of youth
Life, a confluence of events, hope for our future
We're born, live, then we die, only this is certain
May I enter the land of Elysium, the after world
I long to be freed from time, still every day turns
The end is coming, and it comes not for me alone
Witness the world burning, taking all of us home

“I grabbed a pile of dust, and holding it up, foolishly
asked for as many birthdays as the grains of dust, I
forgot to ask that they be years of youth. ”      Ovid

Emptied Heart

The heart is pale, failing
Once magnificent
But now just a memory
Once a symbol of pride
But emptied of blood
Emptied of hope
Years have drained
Wounded over time
Breaking, knowing
Once a perfect vessel
The beacon of strength
This beautiful container
No longer unbreakable
A heart that barely beats
Filled with hurt
And pain
It is still and frozen
Immobile and scarred
The love inside was lost
The dreams are gone
Even if it remembers
It has nothing
A mind that only screams
It has nightmares
Never dreams
In the graylands
Between the lands
Of living and dying
It walks alone
Praying
Begging to die
To enter a permanent sleep
This isn't Heaven
It isn't beautiful
The trees emptied of leaves
The sky without clouds
Gray without the sun
A lifeless wasteland
But it is quiet
Silent and calm
Without the pain
That still endures
Without the sorrow
That keeps burning
Dust to Dust
We began as dust
And we shall return to the earth
As dust
In this you can trust
Our flesh is dust
And nothing more
But the spirit lingers
Hungry still
Burning hot in the core

Tragic Fool

I saw her there sitting in the park smiling
She was unaware of the others looking on
I couldn't say a thing, nor open my mouth
And I surely didn't want to appear a fool
I was moved by her innocence, her beauty
I was deeply lost in her allure
She looked straight into your eyes
She was awakening in me an interest
Raising hopes to the farthest horizon
But an attraction's voice can be a liar
Dreams unfulfilled are often cruel
Attraction is dangerous, untamed, wild
It does whatever it desires, and isn't pure
I tell myself, I don't need anything more
OK not need more, but that I want more
It comes from within and it'll haunt me
My mind is innocence, my heart idolatry
So now I have become my own demon
Tortured in such an infernal comedy
This drama is without a final act
And the curtain falls, unfinished
My heart owns this tragedy

I long for the taste

My love, you are far too dark, share that moonlight with me
I haven't enough, far too many scars, say something witty?
I long for your touch, don't break my heart, yes, forgive me
Can't help but stare, lost in a gaze, your beauty will kill me
That look in your eyes isn't fair, a shame, so wish with me
Darlin' I'll never say goodbye, you move with such grace
Your lips are perfection, so lovely, and I long for the taste
Your allure moves me, and I long to be with you
To be with you in our future forever
Let us enter that realm, and enter in, together

Creation's Guiding Hand

After the planets and galaxies, a pause, God then began with stars
Then lingered in the echoes of the mists, at the beginning of time
Then watched, life seemed to rise from nothing, in clay and spark
The Creator then gave life eternity's kiss, the immaculate design
In a moment, creation reflected the creator, reveled in each heart
The universe is alive, it has purpose, it reflects perfection's guide
In the vastness of existence, we know a little, but hope isn't far
With nothing we can control, not even a destination of our soul
And we step forward, into the unknown, the great leap, to know
Eternity echoes, eternity calls, so unready, when we know awe
Even the simplest plant, grass bows to the wind
Aware of the maker's hand, and our soul within

“If your daily life seems poor, do not blame it; blame yourself, tell yourself
that you are not poet enough to call forth its riches; for to the creator there
is no poverty and no poor indifferent place.”                 Rainer Maria Rilke
