Bad Decisions Woven

Rising tide, currents pull back depths, waves rise
A dangerous fluid, beautiful, the dying will begin
Moon is the sole light, stars are covered in clouds
Low, deep roar of time and motion, ocean calling
Upon dry land, there's no iota of grace nor water
Still, watching swells and retreats, rhythm is real
Why did our creator reach out, in our great awe
Blanketing liquids cover a planet, hiding much
Our future's already spent, lives already lived
This isn't a moment of joy, rather a silent call
Know the past doesn't change, yet unknown
We assume that our home has never spoken
Worse, we've never asked nor even listened
The walls of civilization have all turned dust
The waves in retreat, woven cloak decision
Battle between night and day, land and sea
Our sole means of hope are found in trust
We stand upon this most great precipice
Chasms have widened, leaving despair
All of the foundations are turned rust
We've lost our path, blinding
deceit
Assuming an entitled outlook
One that should have failed
In madness so complete
