Bones

My flesh, bones, blood and spirit
Are broken, full of damage now
From the way I've been living
If the ancestors call, I can't hear it
I'm blinded and deaf somehow
Invulnerable to pain, but not forgiven
Breaking, I'm my own evil dream
Tempted and tormented, my being
If I surrender and die, I will be lost
Cast into the abyss, with prejudice
No one but me to pay the cost
Broken, unchosen, screaming
A prayer never before heard
Of dreams unspoken
And feared, without salvation
No redemption for the fool's path
No saving the unsaved
Having chosen wrath
Rather than hope
Having had no empathy
Having chosen anger
Now drowning in fire
With a chain around my throat
