I am fat
Many Americans are fat
But everyone must eat
We all die if we do not eat
So there must be a way forward
Perhaps let the first come last
Let us learn to wash our beloved's feet
Care for the disadvantaged
Understand homelessness
Make every meal a moment of holiness
Reminding ourselves of the roots
And become separated from food
Make it special, never to be abused
If we hold food as sacred
Perhaps we won't seek it for pleasure
If we recognize needs of others
Perhaps we'll find our treasures
We must try to return to innocence
Let us join in a great repast and give thanks
For every ounce of our sustenance
