And the Ripper did the same thing
They left the public terrorized
Murderous acts left without justice
The public screamed and cried
But what if we were as horrified
When the police kill an innocent
Or when our military is used to slaughter
Drops bombs on refugee camps
Killing thousands
For the dozen gunmen within
And then where is the outrage
No one questions the ethics
Or the deficit morals
When we linger in inaction
We condemn children to death
When we have the resources
To find a way to make everyone fed
To act to make others not kill children
Or find justice, there is a way
For everyone to be satisfied
But what we do is give in to rage
Make the lesser people pay
Just as the killers announce their acts
We do the same and wash our hands
Sending thoughts and prayers
And that's enough to move on
Or we will enter oblivion
