Memories and solemn prayers help but give us little comfort
Yet, if we are honest, we live very short lives on the earth
What can we accomplish in that short time? I don't know
All we have is the chance, there's nothing owed us at birth
I must ask, if nothing's guaranteed, and future is unwritten
Why worry? Instead why not pursue a new path forward
Finding hope, efforts to share, and power in our words
In every circumstance we must try to endure, appreciate
View the opportunity present rather than the disaster
