Hollowed Out, Waiting

My skeleton fades, my being decayed
Flesh transparent, revealing all of my viscera
With dreams incoherent, lingering in misery
Still I long to see the fields of Elysium
Is there hope outside the promises of skin
I've waited for the length of my existence
As I wear the cloak of my human persona
I linger in shadows, I'm hollowed out within
But still I find hope, in the everlasting
I need hope, consequence, and requital
While upon my knees, I wait, ready at last
Let this experience not be simply spectacle
Let me find the aim steady
To drive me down the path
