Asking why, but knowing no answer
If modernity is a question
And humanity is a cancer
When high towers of civilization fall
If the cities have crumbled and die
Will we see our own folly
When all we've built is turned dust
Or is there nothing, are we lost
Or will we ever return
Will we become dust to dust
Spread as ashes to ashes
Nothing but our bestial impulse
Nothing we do can save ourselves
If we are lost, extinct
Upon who can we trust
What is there, if anything
If there's nothing left
