Discovery of the Self

Long ago, I had to begin this journey
I traveled all the way
To the center of the earth
It has taken many more lifetimes
To cross the globe, I've grown weary
I've tried grow and I've tried to learn
The lessons have not made me wise
I am but clay and spark in the form of man
I've become hardened, maybe resilient
My flesh will fade away, but I'm defiant
It will take all of my life, I am rent
I will find my victory or remain silent
My life is spent for now, but I still stand
My quest will be achieved
Or there is nothing
