Unwritten Future

They say that our destiny
To rise and have mastery
Over all the entire world
Lands remain to be claimed
The planet is waiting there
So do we consume it all
And leaving nothing behind
If we never ask if it is fair
If nothing remains
Do we deserve our portion
In this, a shrinking world
What exists for innocents
If they die or not who cares?
Will you survive or not
The world will still turn
Is it right if we destroy it
Cutting down every single tree
What is the point
In a once green world
Now and forever brown
A scorched earth
With our presence
Found in burning footprints
Upon pristine snow
We are the apex
We were the zenith
Together entwined
All the same time
We are toxic
Consume everything
Our species a disease
But are we can be more
With gifts of intelligence
And potential for good
Our future might have promise
The future is unwritten
Will we rise as individuals
Or become enslaved
Will we be remembered by name
Or will we be only numbers
The human drama is not over
But how will it end
Dying silently
We have no plan B
We have no world to spare
